Julie Rohart is a French screenwriter and director based in Paris, specializing in fiction, music videos, and commercials.
Her first series, FACTICE (6x42), a thriller she directed for UNIVERSAL+ / 13ème Rue, recently won the CANAL+ Award at the Sète Creatvty Festival. The series is also among the five selected by Unifrance for SÉRIE MANIA 2025 (Coming Next from France). Produced by GoodCop (Clothilde Jamin) and starring Caroline Anglade, Anne Consigny, and Constantin Vidal, it is set for release in 2025. The show was written and created by Julien Messemackers.
In 2024, she directed the French segments of the American program Disney’s Christmas 40th Parade for ABC / Hulu / Disney+, featuring live performances by Ariana DeBose at Disneyland Paris. The show aired in prime time on ABC and later streamed on Disney+. It received three Emmy nominations and won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video (2024).
In 2021, her debut short film, Loup y es-tu?, a WWII thriller, garnered over 20 international festival selections and won 10 awards, including Best Horror Short at the Montreal Independent Film Festival, Best Director at the French Fantasy Film Festival, and an official selection at the renowned BIFAN (Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival) in Asia.
Julie began her career in theater, working on major Anglo-Saxon musicals such as CABARET The Musical, directed by Sam Mendes and Rob Marshall (Stage Entertainment); THE LION KING, directed by Julie Taymor (Disney Broadway Theatrical Production); BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, directed by Glenn Casale (Disney Broadway Theatrical Production); SISTER ACT The Musical, directed by Carline Brouwer (Stage Entertainment); and MAMMA MIA The Musical, directed by Phyllida Lloyd (Stage Entertainment).
She is currently developing new series and feature film projects.
